In February 2024 we launched our first ever Pageant Picnic Community event and had some new and former delegates from Australia Galaxy Pageants walk through newer delegates on what to expect, ways our seasoned delegated prepare and what to get ready.

February's group focused on learning about and seeking support on their pageant platforms, community appearances and how to better understand their 'WHY' for why they choose to compete.

In March 2024 we welcomed a bigger cohort of Pageant people to our second Pageant Picnic Community event.

At March's event our focus for the day was on MINDSET - OVERCOMING IMPOSTER SYNDROME & COMBATTING FEELINGS OF ANXIETY where delegates from multiple systems walked one another through the various ways they prepare for pageant's and overcoming feelings of disempowerment.

We were grateful to welcome some new faces and first time pageant delegates along and thankful to have representation from Australia Galaxy Pageants, Regency International, Australia Royalty Pageant, Miss Diverse Australia, Miss World, Mini Miss Tasmania, Miss Diamond & Photogenic, Miss of Australia & Miss Universal Global.

APRIL 2024
MELBOURNE PICNIC

At our April Melbourne Picnic, we spoke all about the pillars of our crowns and what makes us all truly unique. Participants had the opportunity to set goals about what their pageants and personal wins mean to them, how to know if they are achieving their goals, what to look out of to ensure they are staying aligned and finished off the session with a pageantry minded guided meditation.

Various participants representing national and international systems all came together to make this one of our most peaceful and liberating picnics to-date.

We also had the incredible opportunity of welcoming Paige Harrington (Ms Souther Australia 2024, Royal International Pageants) who spoke to us all about her initiative, Project Worry, which she has developed through pageantry to support young people to feel encouraged and empowered to speak about their worries and release these concerns in a healthy, age-appropriate manner that allows for appropriate support and interventions. Learn more about her platform, PROJECT WORRY here

At our first interstate pageant picnic, we had the incredible opportunity to dive in with a group full of Galaxy Girls competing at nationals the next day. We spent the day reflecting on our individual journeys, discussing ways which we had grown, discussing with former titleholders how they felt when they had won their respective titles and the differences or changes that they had made (if any) to feel more aligned with the Galaxy system.

We all had the opportunity to speak about how we had developed across our journeys and shared in similar challenges and triumphs. We spent the day mindfully winding down and finding time to enjoy the little things whilst we decorated makeup brush cups in our own artsy ways.
